I took these images on a walk into town and back, I noticed the light was nice, which was something we haven't had in a while being winter in the UK. I set out to take a few street observations, similar to Max Zerrahn's 'snake eyes'
The first image is one of my more liked images although the foreground is very underexposed I like the feel this image gives off. I like the rigidness of the wall and metal contrasted with the wiggly and random line that the barbed wire creates across the frame. I like the cool tone of blue mixed with the light wispy clouds, it adds a nice gradient to an otherwise boring sky.
The second image shows a plastic bag stuck on a bent, metal safety barrier. I was drawn to this image because of how despite the barrier being metal the shape of the bent bars resemble the changing shape of the plastic bag. I like how the more natural lines are contrasted by the harsh lines of the buildings in the backgrounds.
I am unsure on the third image, I like the framing of it and I like the colours you see in the frame however I feel I needed to be closer to the person along the pavement. overall though I like the composition and the tones are nice. I shot with a wide/standard lens with an aperture around 5.6 to get more than just the tree and the sign in focus. Next time I am in a similar situation I will walk closer to the person and take the photo.
